We provide groceries to about 420 households every single week!
Where does the food come from? We receive commodity and rescued food through a partnership with Roadrunner Food Bank, we “rescue” hundreds of thousands of pounds of safe edible food that can no longer be sold by local grocery stores and food distributors.
And we gladly accept food donations!
Please join us in our fight against hunger by donating food personally or by organizing a food drive at work, school, church, or with your friends or neighbors.
Donations can be dropped off at the Rio Grande Food Project Monday-Friday 10 am – 2pm and Saturday 9 am – noon. We are so very grateful for every donation! Pickup can be arranged.
If you you know your favorite grocer or grower would like to participate in food rescue, please contact us at (505) 831-3778 and we’ll coordinate a pickup.
